Do Certified Used Cars Mean Peace of Mind?

For those who have the basic knowledge, a certified used car provides little to comfort them if it is not properly seen to. By definition, a certified pre-owned car is a type of used car that has been inspected, refurbished, and certified by a manufacturer or other certifying authority, and typically include an extended warranty, special financing, and additional benefits. A certified used car, also referred to as a CPO, is only trustable if it is certified by a bonafide dealership.
As automobile industries continue to churn out new cars every year, the number of used cars is increasing, and not all of them can be trusted to take their owner from point A to point B without causing some sort of problem. Most dealerships allow their used cars a brand of certification, which comes under their umbrella of responsibility.
Brands such as Toyota, Mercedes and Audi are now allowing CPO transfers as well, which means that if a person buys a new car, that dealership certification will go with them. However, since there are too many cars on the road, companies now have started controlling ownership for each car. If you want to buy a car, you can only buy the brand which your previous car was certified by. This sneaky trick is making millions for automotive industries since as the economy improves; people are getting auto loans for their purchases, which will give them revenue.
However, all of this begs the question…

Are CPO cars really trustworthy or should we invest in extended warranty?

Not everyone can buy a Mercedes or an Audi model, and are now heading to used-car lots which offer their own certification for each car in collaboration with the companies, however, you have to be careful to only buy the car from a trusted dealer since many only check on the fluff and stamp out their certification. Due to this, companies are now allowing people to have a detailed look on the process of certification and are even offering cars with an extended warranty, providing peace of mind to the buyer. Nevertheless, dealerships are now hard at work to make sure that their cars are properly certified and looked after, and with a choice of certified used cars, buyers can have their choice of vehicle without a worry.
Because of the shoddy workmanship provided in previous dealerships, companies are now taking this plot seriously, and have started to follow through on their manufactured models. CPO guidelines vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, but generally, companies now require a more thorough inspection of the vehicle and entail a firm minimum wear for things like brakes and tires. Such companies also require the car to be fitted with brand new tires, brakes and proper servicing.
Certified used cars may not appeal to everyone but with new rules and guidelines being applied to every dealership, potential buyers can now head to the lot, satisfied that car dealerships and companies are now looking out for their customers.
